Zycopt

Zycopt is an ophthalmic solution combining dorzolamide hydrochloride and timolol maleate for intraocular pressure management. This dual-action eye drop is commonly prescribed for conditions like open-angle glaucoma and ocular hypertension. Suitable for adults and children under supervision.

Zycopt is used to reduce elevated intraocular pressure in patients with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension. The combination of dorzolamide and timolol works by decreasing fluid production in the eye, helping to prevent optic nerve damage. It is typically prescribed when single-agent therapy is insufficient.

Users may experience improved eye comfort and reduced pressure within the eye after consistent use. Some individuals notice clearer vision over time as pressure stabilizes. Temporary stinging or blurred vision can occur initially but often diminishes with regular application.

Store Zycopt at room temperature away from light and moisture. Avoid touching the dropper tip to prevent contamination. Do not use if the solution changes color or becomes cloudy. Contact lenses should be removed before application and reinserted after 15 minutes.

Zycopt may interact with oral beta-blockers, calcium channel blockers, or other eye medications. Caution is advised when using alongside high-dose aspirin or medications affecting heart rhythm. Alcohol and sedatives may enhance drowsiness, though systemic absorption is typically minimal.
