Zofistar (Zofenopril Calcium) is an oral ACE inhibitor used for managing hypertension and post-heart attack care. This medication helps regulate blood pressure by relaxing blood vessels. It is prescribed for adults and requires medical supervision.

Zofistar is primarily used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults. It may also be prescribed after a heart attack to improve survival and reduce complications. The drug works by blocking ACE, an enzyme that tightens blood vessels. It is not a first-line treatment for all cases.

Zofistar may cause dizziness, especially when starting treatment or increasing the dose. Some users report a dry cough, fatigue, or mild gastrointestinal discomfort. These effects are often temporary and should be discussed with a healthcare provider. Blood pressure should be monitored regularly.

Zofistar may interact with diuretics, potassium supplements, or other blood pressure medications. Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) can reduce its effectiveness. Alcohol and lithium levels may also be affected. Always inform your doctor about all medications and supplements in use.
