Ximaract

Ximaract (Cefuroxime) is an antibiotic used intracamerally to prevent infection after eye surgery. It belongs to the cephalosporin class, targeting bacterial growth. This sterile solution is designed for ophthalmic use only.

Ximaract is primarily used to reduce the risk of infection following cataract surgery by eliminating susceptible bacteria. It may also be used in other ocular procedures where bacterial prophylaxis is required. The medication works by disrupting bacterial cell wall synthesis, making it effective against a range of common pathogens.

After intracameral administration, Ximaract begins working within minutes to inhibit bacterial growth. Patients may notice improved eye comfort as the risk of infection decreases. The solution is designed to be well-tolerated in the eye, with minimal systemic absorption.
