Xanirva

Xanirva (rivaroxaban) is an oral anticoagulant used to help prevent blood clots. It belongs to the class of medications known as factor Xa inhibitors. Xanirva is prescribed for conditions requiring blood clot prevention.

Xanirva is commonly used to reduce the risk of blood clots forming in the veins after hip or knee replacement surgery. It is also prescribed for people with atrial fibrillation to lower the chance of stroke caused by a blood clot. Rivaroxaban may be used to treat deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE), helping to prevent recurrence.

As an anticoagulant, Xanirva works by blocking a specific clotting factor in the blood, which helps prevent clots from forming or growing larger. Users may notice improved blood flow and reduced risk of clot-related complications. It does not dissolve existing clots but helps stop new ones from developing.

Store Xanirva at room temperature away from moisture and heat. Keep the medication in its original packaging until ready to use. Always check the expiry date before taking a dose. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it is close to the next scheduled dose.

Xanirva can interact with other medications that affect blood clotting, such as nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) or aspirin. Combining it with certain antibiotics or antifungals may also alter its effects. Alcohol use should be limited, as it may increase the risk of bleeding. Always inform your healthcare provider about all medications you are taking.
