It works by increasing the outflow of aqueous humor, the fluid inside the eye, to reduce pressure. This medication is often prescribed when other treatments are ineffective or unsuitable. It does not cure glaucoma but helps manage the condition.

Xalatan (Latanoprost) may cause gradual changes in eye color, increasing brown pigmentation over time. Some users notice darker, thicker eyelashes or mild eye irritation after application. These effects are generally cosmetic and vary by individual. Temporary blurred vision or redness may occur but usually subsides quickly.
