Xalatan

Xalatan (Latanoprost) is an eye drop solution used to reduce elevated pressure in the eye, commonly prescribed for glaucoma and ocular hypertension. This prostaglandin analog helps maintain eye health by improving fluid drainage. Suitable for adults and children with doctor supervision.

Xalatan is primarily used to lower intraocular pressure in patients with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension. It works by increasing the outflow of fluid from the eye, helping to prevent vision loss. Often prescribed when other treatments are ineffective. May also be used off-label for specific eye conditions as directed by a healthcare provider.

Users may notice gradual improvement in eye pressure levels over several weeks of consistent use. Some individuals report clearer vision or reduced eye strain, though results vary. Mild eye redness or a slight darkening of the iris can occur with prolonged use. Temporary stinging or blurred vision may be experienced initially.

Store Xalatan in a cool, dry place away from direct light. Keep the bottle tightly closed when not in use to prevent contamination. Avoid touching the dropper tip to any surface, including the eye, to reduce infection risk. Discard any remaining solution after the expiration date or 6 weeks post-opening.

No significant drug interactions are widely reported, but inform your doctor about all medications, including over-the-counter and herbal products. Combining Xalatan with other eye drops may require a 5-minute interval between applications. Alcohol and certain foods do not typically interfere with its effects.
