Xalatan

Xalatan (Latanoprost) is an eye drop medication used to treat high pressure inside the eye, including conditions like glaucoma and ocular hypertension. This prostaglandin analog helps reduce pressure by increasing fluid drainage. It is commonly prescribed for long-term eye health management.

Store Xalatan in a cool, dry place away from direct light. Keep the bottle tightly closed when not in use to prevent contamination. Avoid touching the dropper tip to any surface, including the eye, to reduce infection risk. If you wear contact lenses, remove them before applying and wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting. Discard any remaining solution after the expiration date.

Xalatan is generally well-tolerated with most medications, but concurrent use of other eye drops should be spaced by at least 5 minutes. No significant interactions with systemic drugs have been widely reported. However, always inform your healthcare provider about all medications you are taking. Alcohol and certain supplements may influence eye pressure, so consult a professional if unsure.
