Xalatan

Xalatan (Latanoprost) is an eye drop solution prescribed for reducing high eye pressure, often associated with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension. This prostaglandin analog helps maintain optic nerve health by improving fluid drainage. Suitable for adults and seniors.

Xalatan is primarily used to lower elevated intraocular pressure in patients with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension. It works by increasing the outflow of aqueous humor, the fluid inside the eye, which helps prevent optic nerve damage. This medication is not a cure but may slow progression when used as directed.

Users may notice gradual changes in eye color due to increased pigmentation, especially in hazel or green eyes. Some experience mild eye redness, itching, or a sensation of foreign objects. These effects are generally temporary and do not indicate serious harm.

Store Xalatan in a cool, dry place away from light. Keep the bottle tightly closed when not in use. Avoid touching the dropper tip to any surface, including the eye, to prevent contamination. Discard the bottle 6 weeks after opening to maintain sterility.

No significant drug interactions are widely reported with Xalatan. However, concurrent use of other eye medications should be spaced at least 5 minutes apart. Always inform your healthcare provider about all medications and supplements you are using.
