Xalatan

Xalatan (Latanoprost) is an eye drop solution used to lower intraocular pressure in conditions like glaucoma. This prostaglandin analog helps maintain eye health by improving fluid drainage. Suitable for adults and seniors, it’s a common first-line treatment for ocular hypertension.

Xalatan is primarily used to reduce elevated intraocular pressure, which can damage the optic nerve in glaucoma or ocular hypertension. It works by increasing the outflow of aqueous humor from the eye, helping to prevent vision loss. Often prescribed when other treatments aren’t effective, it’s a trusted option for long-term eye pressure management.

After application, Xalatan typically begins lowering eye pressure within a few hours, with peak effects seen after 12 hours. Users may notice slight eye redness or a mild burning sensation initially, which often subsides. Some people report darker or longer eyelashes over time, a common side effect of this medication.

Store Xalatan in its original packaging at room temperature, away from light and moisture. Avoid touching the dropper tip to any surface to prevent contamination. Contact lenses should be removed before application and may be reinserted after 15 minutes. Keep out of reach of children and pets.
