Xalaprost

Xalaprost (Latanoprost) is an eye drop solution prescribed for reducing high eye pressure. It belongs to the prostaglandin analogs class and helps prevent optic nerve damage. This medication is commonly used to treat open-angle glaucoma and ocular hypertension. Suitable for adults and children under medical supervision.

Xalaprost is primarily used to lower elevated intraocular pressure in conditions like open-angle glaucoma and ocular hypertension. It works by increasing fluid drainage from the eye, reducing pressure over time. This medication is often prescribed when other treatments are ineffective or unsuitable. It may also be used off-label for certain eye conditions as directed by a healthcare provider.

After application, Xalaprost may cause a gradual change in eye color due to increased pigmentation. Some users report temporary blurred vision or mild eye discomfort. These effects are usually mild and temporary. Consistent use is important for optimal results.

Store Xalaprost in a cool, dry place away from direct light. Keep the bottle tightly closed when not in use. Avoid touching the dropper tip to prevent contamination. Discard the bottle after the recommended duration even if some solution remains. Contact lenses should be removed before application and reinserted after 15 minutes.

Xalaprost may interact with other eye medications, especially those containing thimerosal. Combining multiple eye drops should be spaced by at least 5 minutes. No significant interactions with systemic medications are reported, but inform your doctor about all medications being used. Alcohol and tobacco do not directly interact but may affect overall eye health.
