It combines two active ingredients that work together to lower fluid production and increase drainage in the eye. This helps prevent damage to the optic nerve and maintain healthy vision. It is prescribed when a single medication is not enough to control eye pressure.

After using Xalacom, some people may notice temporary blurred vision or mild eye discomfort. You might experience a slight change in eye color over time, as latanoprost can darken the iris. Some users report a sensation of having something in the eye or increased tearing. These effects are usually mild and often improve as your body adjusts to the medication.

Store Xalacom in a cool, dry place away from direct light. Keep the bottle tightly closed when not in use to prevent contamination. Avoid touching the dropper tip to any surface, including your eye, to reduce the risk of infection. If you wear contact lenses, remove them before applying the drops and wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting them.

Xalacom may interact with other eye medications, so inform your healthcare provider about all treatments you use. Combining it with oral beta-blockers or calcium channel blockers could enhance certain side effects like low blood pressure.
