Xalacom

Xalacom is an eye drop solution combining timolol maleate and latanoprost for managing intraocular pressure. This dual-action medication supports eye health by reducing fluid buildup in the eye, commonly used in glaucoma and ocular hypertension treatment.

Xalacom is used to lower elevated pressure within the eye, a condition often associated with glaucoma or ocular hypertension. It combines two active ingredients that work together to reduce fluid production and improve drainage, helping maintain healthy eye pressure levels. This medication is typically prescribed when single-agent therapy is insufficient.

After application, Xalacom may help reduce eye pressure over several hours. Users often report improved comfort and reduced strain, though individual responses may vary. Some may notice changes in eyelash growth or slight darkening of the iris, which are common with prostaglandin analogs like latanoprost.

Store Xalacom in a cool, dry place away from direct light. Keep the container tightly closed when not in use. Avoid touching the dropper tip to any surface to prevent contamination. If you wear contact lenses, remove them before applying and wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting.

Xalacom may interact with other eye medications, so inform your healthcare provider about all treatments you use. Combining with oral beta-blockers could increase systemic effects.
