Xalacom

Xalacom is a prescription eye drop combining timolol maleate and latanoprost for managing high eye pressure. It helps reduce intraocular pressure in conditions like glaucoma and ocular hypertension. This dual-action solution supports long-term eye health and vision preservation.

Xalacom is used to lower elevated intraocular pressure in patients with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension. The combination of timolol maleate and latanoprost works by reducing fluid production and increasing drainage in the eye. This helps prevent optic nerve damage and vision loss over time.

Xalacom may temporarily cause mild eye discomfort, redness, or blurred vision after application. Some users notice a gradual darkening of the iris or eyelid skin, which is usually reversible upon discontinuation. These effects are generally mild and do not affect everyone.

Store Xalacom in a cool, dry place away from direct light and children. Avoid touching the dropper tip to prevent contamination. If you wear contact lenses, remove them before use and wait 15 minutes before reinserting. Consult a healthcare provider if you experience persistent irritation or vision changes.

Xalacom may interact with other eye medications, especially those containing prostaglandins or beta-blockers. Avoid using multiple eye drops simultaneously unless directed by a doctor. Alcohol and certain systemic medications may enhance side effects like dizziness or low blood pressure.
