Vizilatan

Vizilatan (Latanoprost) is an eye drop solution used to reduce high pressure in the eye, often associated with glaucoma or ocular hypertension. This prostaglandin analog helps maintain eye health by supporting fluid drainage. Suitable for adults and children under medical supervision.

Vizilatan is primarily used to treat open-angle glaucoma and ocular hypertension by lowering intraocular pressure. It works by increasing the outflow of aqueous humor, the fluid inside the eye, which helps prevent optic nerve damage. This medication is often prescribed when other treatments are ineffective or unsuitable.

After application, Vizilatan typically begins to reduce eye pressure within a few hours, with peak effects observed after 12 hours. Users may notice gradual improvements in eye comfort and clarity over time. Some individuals experience mild eye redness or a slight darkening of the iris, particularly in those with mixed-color irises.

Vizilatan should be stored in a cool, dry place away from direct light. Contact lenses should be removed before application and can be reinserted after 15 minutes. Avoid touching the dropper tip to prevent contamination. If you experience severe eye pain, vision changes, or persistent irritation, discontinue use and consult a healthcare provider.

While Vizilatan has minimal systemic absorption, it may interact with other eye medications. Combining it with high-dose nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) or corticosteroids could potentially reduce its effectiveness.
