Vizilatan

Vizilatan (Latanoprost) is an eye drop medication primarily used to reduce high pressure inside the eye, often associated with glaucoma or ocular hypertension. This prostaglandin analog helps maintain eye health by improving fluid drainage. Suitable for adults and some pediatric patients under medical supervision.

Vizilatan (Latanoprost) is commonly prescribed to lower intraocular pressure, which can help prevent damage to the optic nerve and vision loss in conditions like open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension. It works by increasing the outflow of aqueous humor, the fluid inside the eye. Some doctors may also recommend it for other eye-related conditions where pressure reduction is beneficial.

After application, Vizilatan typically begins to lower eye pressure within a few hours, with peak effects seen after 12 hours. Users may notice gradual improvements in eye comfort and reduced redness over time. Some individuals experience a slight darkening of the iris or eyelid skin, which can be permanent.

Store Vizilatan in a cool, dry place away from direct light. Keep the bottle tightly closed when not in use. Avoid touching the dropper tip to any surface, including the eye, to prevent contamination. If you wear contact lenses, remove them before applying the drops and wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting them.

While Vizilatan has a low risk of systemic interactions, it’s wise to inform your healthcare provider about all medications you’re using, including over-the-counter products. Combining it with other eye drops should be spaced at least 5 minutes apart to avoid dilution. Alcohol and certain herbal supplements may occasionally influence its effects.
