Visipaque (Iodixanol) is a non-ionic, iso-osmolar contrast agent used for radiographic imaging. It enhances visibility of blood vessels and tissues during CT scans, MRIs, and angiograms. Patients taking metformin should temporarily discontinue its use before and after contrast administration due to the risk of lactic acidosis. Alcohol consumption may exacerbate dehydration, which can impact imaging results.
