Vigamox

Vigamox (moxifloxacin hydrochloride) is an antibiotic eye drop used to treat bacterial eye infections. It belongs to the fluoroquinolone class and works by stopping bacterial growth. Commonly prescribed for conjunctivitis and other ocular infections. Suitable for adults and children.

Vigamox is used to treat bacterial eye infections such as conjunctivitis (pink eye) and other conditions caused by susceptible bacteria. It is prescribed when infections are confirmed or strongly suspected to be bacterial in nature. The medication helps reduce redness, swelling, and discharge associated with eye infections. It is not effective against viral or fungal infections.

Vigamox works by interfering with the bacteria’s ability to repair and replicate its DNA, leading to bacterial cell death. Users may notice reduced eye redness and discharge as the infection clears. Relief from symptoms typically begins within a few days of starting treatment. Consistent use as directed is important for effectiveness.

Keep the dropper tip clean and avoid touching it to any surface, including the eye, to prevent contamination. Do not share this medication with others, even if they have similar symptoms. Remove contact lenses before use and wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting them. Store at room temperature, away from moisture and heat.

No significant drug interactions have been reported with Vigamox eye drops. However, if you are using other eye medications, wait at least 5 minutes between applications. Avoid combining with other antibiotics unless directed by a healthcare provider. Always inform your doctor about all medications you are using.
