Verorab

Verorab is an inactivated rabies virus vaccine used for pre- and post-exposure prophylaxis against rabies. Administered intradermally or intramuscularly, it helps prevent rabies infection after exposure. This vaccine is suitable for travelers, animal handlers, and post-bite scenarios. Store refrigerated between 2°C and 8°C.

Verorab is used to prevent rabies infection in individuals exposed to the virus through animal bites, scratches, or mucous membrane contact. It is also administered as pre-exposure prophylaxis for those at high risk, such as veterinarians or travelers to endemic regions. The vaccine stimulates the immune system to produce antibodies against the rabies virus. It does not treat active rabies infections.

After vaccination, the immune system typically responds by producing antibodies to the inactivated rabies virus. Common effects include mild pain, redness, or swelling at the injection site. Some individuals may experience mild fever, headache, or fatigue. These effects are generally temporary and resolve without intervention.

Verorab should be handled with care to avoid contamination or improper storage. Keep the vaccine refrigerated between 2°C and 8°C and protect it from light. Do not freeze. Ensure proper administration technique to maximize efficacy. Consult a healthcare provider if you have a weakened immune system or are pregnant.

Verorab may interact with immunosuppressive therapies, such as corticosteroids or chemotherapy, which can reduce its effectiveness. Avoid receiving live vaccines within 30 days of Verorab administration. Inform your healthcare provider about all medications and vaccines you are taking to avoid potential interactions.
