Ultravist

Ultravist (iopromide) is a non-ionic, low-osmolality contrast agent used in medical imaging. Suitable for intraarterial, intravascular, and intravenous routes. Designed for clear visualization of blood vessels and organs during diagnostic procedures.

Iopromide is primarily used as a contrast medium in radiographic imaging to enhance visibility of blood vessels, organs, and tissues. It helps in procedures like CT scans, angiograms, and other diagnostic tests where detailed internal views are required. Commonly used when assessing vascular structures, detecting abnormalities, or guiding interventional procedures.

After administration, iopromide spreads through the bloodstream, temporarily increasing the contrast of certain areas in imaging scans. This allows for clearer differentiation between tissues and structures. Effects are typically short-lived and resolve as the contrast agent is naturally eliminated from the body.

Patients with a history of severe allergic reactions to contrast agents should exercise caution. Adequate hydration before and after use may help reduce the risk of kidney-related side effects. Inform healthcare providers of any kidney conditions, thyroid disorders, or allergies prior to administration.

Certain medications, such as metformin or beta-blockers, may interact with iopromide, potentially increasing the risk of adverse effects.
