Typhim Vi

Typhim Vi is a typhoid vaccine containing purified Vi polysaccharide from Salmonella Typhi (Ty2 strain). This injectable vaccine helps protect against typhoid fever caused by Salmonella Typhi bacteria. It is administered intramuscularly or subcutaneously for immunization in adults and children aged 2 years and older.

Typhim Vi is used to help prevent typhoid fever, a serious bacterial infection spread through contaminated food and water. It is recommended for travelers to areas where typhoid is common, household contacts of typhoid carriers, and people in high-risk occupational settings. The vaccine stimulates the immune system to produce antibodies against Salmonella Typhi without causing the disease itself.

After vaccination, the body develops immunity to Salmonella Typhi over several weeks. Common effects include mild soreness, redness, or swelling at the injection site. Some individuals may experience mild fever, headache, or fatigue. These effects are generally short-lived and indicate the body’s immune response.
