Typhim Vi

Typhim Vi is a typhoid vaccine containing the Vi polysaccharide antigen from Salmonella Typhi (Ty2 strain). This injectable vaccine helps protect against typhoid fever caused by the bacteria. It is designed for intramuscular or subcutaneous administration. Ideal for travelers and high-risk individuals.

Typhim Vi is used to help prevent typhoid fever, a bacterial infection caused by Salmonella Typhi. It is recommended for individuals traveling to areas where typhoid is common, as well as for those at increased risk of exposure. The vaccine stimulates the immune system to produce antibodies against the bacteria. It does not treat active infections.

After vaccination, the body’s immune system recognizes the Vi polysaccharide antigen and begins producing protective antibodies. Common effects may include mild pain, redness, or swelling at the injection site. Some individuals may experience mild flu-like symptoms, such as low-grade fever or fatigue, following administration.

Typhim Vi should be stored refrigerated between 2°C and 8°C and protected from light. It is for intramuscular or subcutaneous use only and should not be injected intravenously. Individuals with a known allergy to any component of the vaccine should avoid its use. Consult a healthcare provider before vaccination if you have a fever or severe illness.

Typhim Vi may be administered with other vaccines, but separate injection sites are recommended.
