Sutent

Sutent (Sunitinib) is an oral prescription medication used to treat certain types of cancer, including kidney cancer and gastrointestinal stromal tumors. It belongs to a class of drugs known as kinase inhibitors. Sutent works by slowing or stopping the growth of cancer cells.

Sutent is primarily used to treat advanced kidney cancer (renal cell carcinoma) and gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST) that cannot be treated with surgery or have spread to other parts of the body. It may also be prescribed for pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (pNET) in some cases. This medication helps manage symptoms and slow disease progression by targeting specific proteins involved in tumor growth.
