Stabilised Ceretec (Exametazime) is a radiopharmaceutical used for brain imaging and detecting abnormalities in blood flow. This sterile kit supports preparation of technetium Tc 99m exametazime injection for diagnostic imaging. Suitable for nuclear medicine procedures requiring cerebral perfusion assessment.

Stabilised Ceretec is primarily used in nuclear medicine imaging to evaluate cerebral blood flow. It helps detect areas of reduced perfusion in the brain, often used in cases of stroke, epilepsy, or dementia evaluation. The radiopharmaceutical is also employed for imaging of other organs when perfusion assessment is required, such as in suspected brain death protocols.

After intravenous administration, Stabilised Ceretec localises in tissues based on blood flow, allowing imaging of perfusion patterns. The effects are visualised through gamma camera imaging, which captures the distribution of the radiopharmaceutical in the body. The imaging process itself is non-invasive and does not produce immediate physical sensations.
