Верораб

Верораб is an inactivated rabies virus vaccine used for pre- and post-exposure prophylaxis against rabies. This EU-sourced vaccine is administered via intradermal or intramuscular routes. It is designed to stimulate immunity without causing disease.

Верораб is used to prevent rabies infection after potential exposure, such as animal bites or scratches. It is also given as pre-exposure prophylaxis for individuals at high risk of rabies exposure, such as veterinarians or travelers to endemic areas. The vaccine works by prompting the immune system to produce antibodies against the rabies virus.

After administration, the immune system recognizes the inactivated rabies virus in Верораб and begins producing antibodies to fight future infections. Most individuals tolerate the vaccine well, with common effects including mild pain or redness at the injection site. Some may experience mild flu-like symptoms, such as low-grade fever or fatigue.

Keep Верораб refrigerated between 2°C and 8°C and protect it from light. Do not freeze the vaccine, as freezing can damage its effectiveness. Inform your healthcare provider of any allergies, especially to eggs or previous vaccine components, before receiving the injection.

Concurrent use of immunosuppressants, such as corticosteroids or chemotherapy, may reduce the effectiveness of Верораб. Avoid receiving other live vaccines within 4 weeks of Верораб unless directed by a healthcare professional. Alcohol and certain medications may also impact immune response, so consult your provider about possible interactions.
