Латалукс (Latanoprost) is an eye drop solution for reducing elevated intraocular pressure, commonly used in glaucoma management. This prostaglandin analog helps maintain eye health by supporting fluid drainage. Suitable for adults and seniors, it’s prescribed for long-term use under medical supervision.

Латалукс is primarily used to lower high pressure inside the eye, a condition often associated with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension. It works by increasing the outflow of fluid from the eye, which helps prevent vision loss. Patients prescribed this medication typically use it once daily, usually in the evening. It’s not intended for conditions like closed-angle glaucoma or severe eye infections.

Users may notice gradual changes in eye color, as latanoprost can darken the iris over time. Some experience mild eye redness, itching, or a sensation of grittiness after application. Temporary blurred vision or a slight stinging feeling is common but usually subsides quickly. These effects are generally mild and do not indicate a serious issue.

Store unopened bottles in a cool, dry place away from light. Once opened, keep the bottle tightly closed and use within 28 days to prevent contamination. Avoid touching the dropper tip to any surface, including the eye, to reduce infection risk. Contact lenses should be removed before application and reinserted after 15 minutes.

No significant drug interactions are reported with latanoprost, but always inform your healthcare provider about all medications you’re using. Combining with other eye drops should be spaced by at least 5 minutes to avoid dilution. Alcohol and certain supplements may influence eye pressure, but direct interactions with latanoprost are unlikely.
