Васталома (fulvestrant) is an intramuscular injection used for hormone receptor-positive breast cancer treatment. This estrogen receptor antagonist helps manage advanced or metastatic conditions. Fulvestrant works by blocking estrogen receptors, slowing tumor growth. Suitable for postmenopausal women with HR-positive, HER2-negative breast cancer.

Fulvestrant is prescribed for treating hormone receptor-positive (HR+) metastatic breast cancer in postmenopausal women. It is used when cancer progresses after anti-estrogen therapy, such as tamoxifen or aromatase inhibitors. Fulvestrant is also indicated for postmenopausal women with HR+ advanced breast cancer not previously treated with endocrine therapy. The medication targets estrogen receptors to slow cancer cell growth.

Fulvestrant may cause injection site reactions, including pain, redness, or swelling. Some patients experience nausea, fatigue, or hot flashes as common effects. Headaches and bone pain are also reported by users. These effects vary in intensity and typically diminish over time. Regular monitoring is recommended during treatment.

Fulvestrant should be handled with care to avoid accidental needle sticks. Patients with bleeding disorders or low platelet counts require close supervision.
